He joined the Newfoundland Association of Victoria, and after singing a few of his songs at some of their functions, it was suggested that he might try and write some songs about his native Newfoundland . He did just that, and at least a dozen of these have been recorded to date. With the encouragement from his friends, and his lovely wife June, John released his first CD Back in Time in 2003.
