BIOGRAPHY

Regular host BILL HEFFERNAN welcomes ST. JOHN'S NEWFOUNDLAND native born, raised, and educated, JOHN CHRISTOPHER to this week's SATURDAY SESSION. JOHN'S impressive musical resume includes the MARIPOSA FOLK FESTIVAL and the FLYING CLOUD, TRANZAC, OSCARS & BROWNINGS here in Toronto and the YELLOW DOOR, TARTOU, LAFOLIE DU LARGE, the famous old BLUE ANGEL, and now the Wheel Club in Montreal, where he was a regular vocalist with the OLD TIME COUNTRY CLUB of CANADA'S house band.

He's performed in Spanish and English in Mexico and has had radio play in the USA, POLAND, GERMANY, MEXICO, AUSTRALIA and of course CANADA.

Also an author, JOHN has recently published the book/memoir 'Molasses Bread and Tea' and should have his new CD on hand for Saturday's show.

John C is joined here by the double juno award winning fiddler John Showman from Creaking Tree String Quartet in a live concert of Newfoundland traditional and Newfoundland inspired original tunes........beautifully recorded by his CTSQ bandmate Andrew Collins.
